Quilt Registration Information

SPRING SHOWER OF QUILTS XII April 5 & 6, 2008

Seymour Middle School, 211 Mountain Rd., Seymour, CT.

The registration deadline is February 15, 2008   

All entries must include a color photo with identification information

(name, address, phone, and title of entry) and appropriate judging fees.  

Registered quilts will be hung on a first entered, first displayed basis. 

All quilts not previously shown at “Spring Shower of Quilts” are welcome.

 

All quilts to be judged must be received by Saturday, March 29th

at the home of Pat Glaser at 65 Marsh Road, Easton, CT 06612-1926.

Any quilts that are shipped must arrive by Friday, March,28th

Items should be shipped with insurance and include funds for return shipping.

All other quilts may be dropped off at Seymour Middle School on

Friday, April 4th, between 4-6pm only

After drop-off all quilts will be insured up to $500, depending on size.

All bed size quilts will need a 4” sleeve.

Identification Label (from registration form)

must be sewn firmly to bottom right corner of quilt back

Great care will be taken with all items, however, Piecemakers

is not responsible for theft or damage.

Pick up will be at Seymour Middle High School on

Sunday, April 6th between 5:00-6:00pm only

Signature of person picking up items and Claim Ticket (from Registration form)

will be required.  Any items not retrieved by 6:00pm will be stored at owner’s

expense and risk. 

To help you choose the correct categories, we offer the following definitions:

The registration committee reserves the right to choose the correct category

for your quilt. Categories may change, due to number of entries.

Quilt tops  

Techniques:

 Pieced

Appliquéd

Mixed (both pieced and appliquéd)

Art/Pictorial, (painting with fabric-landscapes, still-lives, faces, etc.)

Miniature (less than 96” perimeter and must be a suitable pattern for a full size quilt) 

Wearable-Jackets, vests, purses, etc.

Miscellaneous-table runners, tree skirts, pillows, etc.

Juniors (under 18 years – all sizes)

Sizes:

Bed size,

Wall-large and small,

Art/Pictorial-large and small,

Multi-Maker Quilts: If 2 or more people contributed to the top,

or top is made by one quilter and the quilting is

done by another (professional or not), it is considered a ‘multi-maker’ quilt.

Quilting

Hand quilted              Professionally hand quilted

Machine quilted          Professionally machine quilted

Professional – anyone who is in the business of quilting for pay.

All professional quilters must be identified in the quilt commentary.

All original designs must be identified in the quilt commentary
